Boney M. are one of the biggest selling acts in history – the only act to have recorded two of the 10 biggest singles in UK chart history. Rivers Of Babylon became the groups first UK Number 1 in May, staying at the top for five weeks. After four months on sale radio stations began to play the flip side, Brown Girl In The ring. By this time it was mid-July, and after dropping to Number 20 in its 13th week on the chart, the single began to climb again. By mid-September it was at Number 2, in its 20th week on the singles chart! It wasn’t until the end of October 1978 that the single finally slipped out of the Top 40. Boney M are the only act to have two two-million-selling singles!
In December 2017 combined sales were reported as 2.03 million.
